Carpal Laxity
There are two conditions associated with this syndrome:
1, Carpal Hyperextension :
The patient’s front legs are flat-footed, and the carpal joint collapses toward the ground.
When the patient walks, the carpal pad may even touch the ground (just like Padma before!).
2, Carpal Hyperflexion :
The carpal joint bends forward when bearing weight, causing the joint to protrude in front of the forelimbs.
The exact cause is unclear, but it may be related to malnutrition, genetics, lack of exercise, and prolonged activity on slippery surfaces. These factors may contribute individually or in combination with others.
For most puppies, the condition improves after providing proper nutrition with high-quality puppy food
and appropriate exercise adjustments!
